When you’re on the water, something special is happening, whether you’re watching waves slowly and abundantly flowing toward the shore, wading in a pool or riding on a boat with the wind in your face! Wow…what wonderful ways to enjoy nature’s powerful element!
As a travel writer, staying at a hotel overlooking the ocean is one of my favorite excursions. There, you can relax, enjoy the lovely ocean view, go for a walk along the beach, swim in a pool, dine overlooking the sunset, or enjoy a relaxing a spa treatment near the ocean….all sensational activities for the mind, body & soul.
Over the past few months, I have made it my ambition to visit as many seaside escapes with family & friends to enjoy the seasonal beauty that surrounds us. There are so many activities to enjoy!

The Waterfront Beach Hotel & Spa, Huntington Beach – Highly desirable location near the Pier & Surf City!
Crowne Plaza, Ventura Beach – Oceanfront resort next to the Pier & walking distance to historic downtown Main Street lined with shops and restaurants.
Seabird Resort & Spa & The Mission Pacific Hotel, Oceanside Beach in North San Diego County – The latest “hot spot” next to the Pier with fine dining & rooftop bar & pool.
The Lodge at Torrey Pines, La Jolla – Impressive Golf Resort high on the cliffs near the cove overlooking the ocean with five-star dining & guest suites.
Casa Tropicana, San Clemente – a fun destination overlooking the ocean & next to the Pier with colorful sunsets.
Beach Front Inn & Suites, Dana Point – Cool hotel overlooking the ocean with pool & jacuzzi. Close to the Harbor & Lantern District with live music, shops & dining.
Balboa Bay Resort, Newport Beach – A premier hotel destination with waterfront dining and luxurious spa including sauna, steam room, jacuzzi & relaxation area. Great for a couple’s retreat.
People of all ages can enjoy the many activities of being “on the water” which nourishes your soul and connects you to a feeling of fitness and vitality!
Boating –Orange County Charters takes you away on the high seas for a perfect day of pleasure aboard the 40’ Tiara. Newport Fun Tours is a great way to rent an electric boat to cruise around the harbor with family and friends.
Kayaking & Paddle boarding – Pirate Coast Paddle Company located on the Back Bay is the ideal destination to take the family for truly being “on the water”…also a great exercise activity.
Many people love to eat, drink & be merry along the sea.
